Recipient of the Award Ceremony of the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology

Yesterday (April 19), I attended the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology for the 2017 Science and Technology Minister Award.

My main purpose is to receive the Young Scientist Award. There was a lecture before so I rushed to Kasumigaseki where MEXT is held. If I am not mistaken, this is my first time visiting here.

To the auditorium of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology where the Award ceremony is held.  If I am not present in front of the entrance of Auditorium, I could not enter. I wouldn’t be able to enter it unless I asked my friend who attended the award ceremony the day before. The reception is open at 10.45, ceremony starts at 12.10 until 2.00 in the afternoon. I thought that it will be a long ceremony award but it ended faster than expected in about an hour. The award ceremony has reserved more time due to the busy time of the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology,

After the event, there was a publicity for Waseda University so I took a picture on the stage (the photo was taken by a public relations representative with a smartphone). The beautiful photo will be available later. Mr. Asai of Tokyo University, Mr. Hirano of Osaka University, and Mr. Omatsu of Nagoya University also won the same prize and we took a picture together. Prof. Oikawa of Hokkaido University and Prof. Ishihara of Nagoya University were also present at the Science and Technology Award of the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.

【Postscript】I received a very beautiful photo from the Research Planning Division at the university. The application was checked by the university and came to the award ceremony to take a picture. I think it was very thoughtful of Waseda University and good compared to other universities. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Research Planning Division.

The procedure and application were tedious so I didn’t apply to the previous university but it was recommended by Waseda University. I am glad that I was able to submit the application documents without delay. From this award ceremony, I learned that the photo of the award certificate, the award date (not only the year of the award), and the exact date of the degree acquisition are important. If you are considering applying for the future, it is best to keep the award date and certificate (photo).
