I went to Osaka to attend meetings of “Middle molecular strategy“, Grand-in Aid for Scientific Research on Innovative Areas. Prof. Koichi Fukase from Osaka University is the representative of the new academic field research that began last year.
Middle-size biomolecules (MW ca. 400-4000) such as natural products, glycans, peptides, nucleic acid drug, and etc. have high chemical diversity and various biological activities.
In this research project, middle-size molecule strategy will be promoted by three stages: development of novel bio-functional middle molecules (A01), achievement of highly efficient synthesis of bioactive middle molecules (A02), and evolution of reaction integration (A03).
I became one of the member of this groups and doing chemistry about highly efficient synthesis of bioactive middle molecules (A02) and done my research talk yesterday.
Why the eye catching image? Is that ramen noodle??
Because I forgot to take a photo of the meeting, so I took my lunch after finished it. 🙂
Here is a photo of venue (Life science center at Senri-chuo in Osaka).
