Prof. Nakao (born in 1976) was educated in chemistry at Kyoto University (PhD with Profs. Hiyama and Shirakawa), Yale University (with Prof. Hartwig), and MPI Kohlenforschung (with Prof. Reetz). He has been a professor at Kyoto University since 2014. He has been recognized by the Mitsui Chemicals Catalysis Science Award of Encouragement (2009), The Society of Silicon Chemistry Award of Encouragement (2009), Thieme Journal Award (2010), Merck-Banyu Lectureship Award (2010), The Chemical Society of Japan Award for Young Chemists (2011), The Commendation for Science and Technology by MEXT, The Young Scientists’ Prize (2011), and Tetrahedron Young Investigator Award (2015). His research interests include the development of new synthetic reactions for selective synthesis by catalysis.
