On May 23, I went to Waseda University High School (Kami-Shakujii) for a business trip. Dr. Yuya Nagata (Suginome Laboratory) of Kyoto University suddenly contacted me that he is near the University and wish to come for a visit.
I have reached Kami-Shakujii Station after attending the new technology briefing hosted by JST. It seems to finish earlier than expected so I return and meet him in our laboratory. Professor Nagata is one of the researchers with abundant human resources in the this generation of organic chemistry and is an active researcher in the synthesis of helical polymers. He also won the Progress Award of the Chemical Society of Japan last year and is thinking about what to do next,
Recently, one of his works was published (as shown below).
“Poly(quinoxaline-2,3-diyl) as a Multifunctional Chiral Scaffold for Circularly Polarized Luminescent Materials: Color Tuning, Energy Transfer, and Switching of the CPL Handedness”
Nishikawa, T.; Nagata, Y.; Suginome, M. ACS Macro Lett. 2017, 6, 431–435. DOI: 10.1021/acsmacrolett.7b00131
Thank you for bringing the souvenirs and took photos together. Souvenirs were eaten very quickly by gluttonous students. I admire his research work and his attitude so I wish to invite him to open a seminar lecture to encourage our students.
