“Pursuit of New Cataylst Design”
Time:May 19th, 2017 16:30-18:00
Venue:Main conference room, 62 build, Waseda University
Takuya Hashimoto was born in Osaka, Japan in 1979. He received his Ph.D. degree in 2006 from Kyoto University under the direction of Prof. Keiji Maruoka. During the graduate course, he spent 3 months in the laboratory of Erick M. Carreira at ETH. After spending one year as a postdoctoral researcher (Maruoka group), he was appointed as an assistant professor at Kyoto University in 2007. He received The Chemical Society of Japan Award for Young Chemists (2013). His research interest includes the development of chiral acid, base, and radical catalysis. Additionally he studied precise design of a chiral catalyst which utilizes the unique property of a main group element.
