Seminar: Prof. Daniel J. Weix

On May 30, we hosted a lecture by Prof. Daniel J. Weix from the University of Rochester. I met at OMCOS (Colorado) four years ago, but I didn’t have much time to speak so this visit was very nice. JSPS invited foreigners (short term) to Japan (host: Prof. Nakao, Kyoto University) and planned to visit about 10 universities in Japan. I met at OMCOS (Colorado) four years ago but I didn’t have much time to talk so this visit was a good chance.

We went to pick him up on the real day at Waseda Station and chatted a little before the seminar. I met at OMCOS (Colorado) four years ago, but I didn’t have much time to speak, so this visit was very nice.

After the seminar, we had research discussions and at night, I have meeting so we say our goodbyes at Waseda station. He is a really nice guy and I wish to have a drink together with him next time. I wrote this on blog because it is announced already, Prof. Daniel J. Weix will move to the University of Wisconsin as a professor from July. Congratulations!

Lastly, Assistant Professor Muto depart from Tokyo Station to go to Prof. Daniel J. Weix next destination which is Tohoku University. It seems like that they dropped by a ramen restaurant and enjoy eating ramen together.
