Title: Fine-Tuning the Building Blocks: Turning the Knobs on Drug-like Property Space—Heteroatoms, Sulfur Oxidation States, Saturation, Bridging, and Fluorine as Molecular Dials
Dr. Bohdan V. Vashchenko is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Organic Chemistry at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Ukraine, and a Senior Researcher at the Enamine Scientific Research Institute. He received his Master’s degree in 2019 and Ph.D. in Chemistry in 2023 from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. He began his research career at Enamine while pursuing his university studies.
His research focuses on organic synthesis and medicinal chemistry, particularly the development of novel organosulfur compounds, alicyclic and heterocyclic scaffolds, and building blocks for drug discovery. His work aims to expand the chemical space accessible to medicinal chemists through the synthesis of structurally diverse, three-dimensional molecules.
Today, he will share recent advances from his research in synthetic and medicinal chemistry.
