Title: Engaging Esters, Aldehydes, and Alcohols in Cross-Coupling

Professor Newman is a Canadian organic chemist. After obtaining his Ph.D. from the University of Toronto in 2012 (under Prof. Mark Lautens), he conducted research as an NSERC Postdoctoral Fellow at MIT for two years. In 2014, he established his own research lab as an Assistant Professor at the University of Ottawa, was promoted to Associate Professor in 2019, and this year became a full Professor. His research primarily focuses on the development of organometallic catalytic reactions using palladium catalysts. In recognition of his outstanding achievements, he has been awarded the Fagnou Award by the Canadian Society for Chemistry this year. We warmly invite you to attend if your schedule allows.
