植物時計ケミカルバイオロジー研究の初期メンバー。名古屋で発見した化合物の高活性体を発見、自身の名前の由来となるAMI-331を研究用試薬としてこの世に出す。手先が器用で多くの反応開発や化合物の合成にも携わった。最終的に2つの概日時計長周期化作用をもつ化合物を見出した。
